In approximately 150 B.C., a group of people living in the Americas were ruled by the wicked King Noah. Abinadi is the original opera written about the prophet of the same name by BYU graduate student M. Ryan Taylor and performed at the university under the direction of Lawrence M. Vincent.

Sidney B. Sperry, a BYU religion professor began the symposium in 1971. This symposium features speakers and their views on a range of scriptural and religious topics.

Virginia H. Pearce (1998)

BYU Women's Conference is a two-day conference held each year in the spring at BYU. Women gather at the conference from all over the United States and several foreign countries to be spiritually uplifted, spend time with family and friends, and to gain insights and new ideas for home, family, and self. BYU Broadcasting records and broadcasts select speakers and presentations for broadcast each year.
